Pretty Down To Your Bones

I lived with my Nina (my mother’s mother) until she died when I was 3. Two springs before she died, she planted bleeding heart flowers in our front garden but unfortunately, they never grew. She tried again the next spring, and they never grew. The spring after she died, bleeding hearts starting blooming everywhere. The bushes took over our entire garden and even started blooming in my front lawn. We tried to clear them out a little but no matter how many roots we pulled out, they grew and grew and grew. They still take over my mother’s yard year after year. I loved my Nina more than anything, and my mother and I like to think that my Nina are in those flowers. I got this tattoo in memory of her last night and I am more than happy with how it turned out.
